easyJet posts record year for passenger numbers

The UK’s largest airline raised its dividend after unveiling bumper annual profits as the low-cost carrier was boosted by the bankruptcies of rivals and flight cancellations at other airlines.
Profit before tax rose 13.5pc to £445m for the year ending in September 30 compared to the same period the year before. Total revenue rose 16.8pc to 5.8bn, while revenue per seat grew 6.4pc to £61.94. Passenger numbers also grew 10pc to 88.5m during the year.
